184!…slowin' down a bit but almost halfway there!

i confess, i cheated a bit. had a couple of fruit veggie smooties and some sushi! still no booze and don't miss it nearly as much as i thought i would. skipped a few excercize sessions as i got up late and had early appointments. i will strive to do better! i will have to! am on the sedentary person two week prep program which follows and only one more day of that. next is the super fat burnin' 31 day program. i had to do the sedentary program. i just couldn't do the excercizes required so i pulled back. even the workout this morning was sooo tough for a short little fat guy who spends most of his time either behind the wheel of a car, sitting at a desk or lounging on the couch watching tv! i am doing much better at my yoga, though. seems the body remembers the postures of old and i still am pretty limber after all those years. here is my sedentary excercise routine. i have only one session left!

Day 1 – Squats x 10 – Rest for 20 seconds Repeat this cycle for 4 times. 1/2/2011….done!

Day 3 – Pushups x 10 (or as many as you can do) – Rest for 20 seconds…1/4/2011…done!

Repeat this cycle for 4 times

Day 5 – 20 baby burpees – time how long it takes you to complete all 20 baby

burpees…done…1/5/11!

Day 8 – 10 squats/5 push ups – this equals one superset. Rest after each

superset for 30 seconds. Repeat the superset for 4 cycles….done…1/8/1011!

Day 10 – 25 baby burpees – time how long it takes you to complete all 25 baby

Burpees…only 17…1/15/11!

Day 12 – 5 squats/3 push ups/ 1 baby burpee – repeat this cycle 5 times, rest

whenever you need to.

this is great for a two week get ready program. the following is my yoga routine.

1. salute to the sun…uddiyana nauli

2. shoulder stand…sarvangasana

3. plow…halasana

4. cobra…bhujangasana

5. posterior stretch…paschimatasana

6. bow…dhanurasana

7. head stand…sirsasana

then i do my breathing excercizes

1. cleansing breath (kapalabhati)

2. bellows breath (bhastrika)

3. audible breath (ujjayi)

the breathing excercizes i do in a modified perfect posture also known as the lotus. as i improve i hope to be able to walk around on my hands in this posture but i think it will take a while. i have only been doing this for a couple of weeks…three times a week but i do the sun salute each day before and after my morning prayers.

sure does great things for a polar bear attitude. :) ownward and upward through the fog, my friends!

these postures and breathing excercizes are done in a slow, attnetive and relaxed manner then i finish with the corpse posture (savasana) which completely relaxes me. sometimes i even fall asleep for a while but awake full of energy, relaxed and ready to go!
