In this new video from BBC America, Peter Capaldi, and Steven Moffat, discuss working with Maisie Williams, better known as Game of Thrones‘ Arya Stark on Doctor Who Series 9.
We still don’t know who the 18-year old actress is playing, with Steven Moffat remaining very tight-lipped.
Speaking in Doctor Who Magazine #490, the showrunner says
“She’s a remarkable young actress, and I think she’s amazing in this. She’s such a contrast with Peter. He’s like a grand old Victorian barnstormer, and she’s like a YouTuber! So it’s a great contrast.”
The sentiment in the video is similar – great actress, but we’re not telling you what’s going on. However Peter Capaldi will at least share one word that describes her: “cosmic”
Maisie Williams appears in the episodes The Girl Who Died and The Woman Who Lived, which will air as episodes five and six of Doctor Who Series 9 on the 17th and 24th of October.
