Today I began reading the book of Joshua.

The first chapter of Joshua had been written about earlier in June of this year because verses from it had been used during a prayer warrior gathering above my city. I was preparing to write again about this chapter, and about a particular angle from a certain verse, even having grabbed a few verses that point to that very thought from elsewhere in the both the Old and New Testament. However, after scanning the blog article I'd written on June 10th, I realized that I don't need to write anything further, other than to share more verses than even those I had referenced in that original article.

The original blog post can be found here: http://songdove.fa-ct.com/wordpress-mu/songdovemusings/2015/06/10/obedience-a-many-splendored-thing/

The additional Scriptures can be found following the verse they relate to specifically, which is:

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Psalms 1:1-6 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Luke 11:28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

James 1:21-25 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

As you'll see by the number of blog posts already written about this subject, it is one that lays on my heart often, and that I keep running into periodically.
