What great heart you have, Madeline. Thank you, and yes, our home is undamaged. We planned for wildfires during construction and planted native plants for wildlife conservation. So far, so good.I wish you well, too, my sweet one.
Yours,
Janine
Smart of you both to use the right kind of vegetation. For me, whatever I put in my home or outside of it can't be beautiful if it is not also functional. That is why I find succulents so much more satisfying when used as landscaping, here in sunny and very dry Southern California. I have even got to wondering why we have so many very green golf courses around here. But I digress, as usual. Stay safe, and I am so glad that your home is untouched and you are all safe.

I am so sorry to read about the horrible fire in your area. I hope your home was not damaged. I feel so sorry for the terrified wildlife too, with no place to go.
It's awful to learn that a person set this fire. I hope they find him and punish him accordingly.
The forest will replant itself but it will take several years, as you know.
The main thing is that hopefully, no one was hurt.
