Haibun for Summer

She broke today. More like cracking, she must have known this was coming. Involuntary flag waving, white, though this is not her end. She will fight with her pinpoint sunshine and clear blue ceilings. Her last stand will match the yellows and reds of the forests, a loitering gypsy dismissed. The heat of her own fury burned her, yielded to Autumn’s soft calls.
