Sacrifice has a release date!

I’m still alive. =) Just been very busy and dealing with things that have come up in my personal life. In all honesty, 2015 can move right on along, as far as I’m concerned. Not the best of years, luck-wise.

Anywho, Sacrifice will be out this coming week, probably either Wednesday or Thursday. (My days off, or as I’ve dubbed them, “get caught up on everything else day”.) I’m sorry again for the long wait, but hope you’ll have fun reading it.

Once Sacrifice is out, I’m immediately going to start work on Ritual, the final book in the Blood Moon Rising series. My goal is get it out sometime in September or early October. So you won’t have to wait nearly as long to read the conclusion as you did to get Sacrifice. =)

When Sacrifice comes out, I’m also going to dive back into social media. I’ve missed it. I don’t like feeling so cut-off from the rest of the world. Pinterest and Google + will be back, and I might try Twitter again. I just hope I don’t get bombarded again with pornography. *shudders* I’m not a prude, but there are some things I just don’t care to see. And for some reason, when I mentioned I wrote sexy romance, I was targeted and tagged in all these “interesting” photos and topics. Maybe it was the key words “sexy romance” that did it. Who knows? I’ll have to do more research into it. Twitter has been the only platform this has happened to me on, with the exception of one weirdo on Facebook, who I promptly blocked.

I’m thinking about giving the Blood Moon Rising series new covers. The ones I have are pretty, but I’m not sure they necessarily fit the mood of the stories. My Her Dark Desires series already has new covers, which I’ll reveal soon. So does my contemporary series, Shatter. Shatter’s covers will go up in September, after I get edits back from another new editor. (Authors, please do your research on editors. Anyone can call themselves one on the Internet. Just because they’re good at grammar doesn’t mean they’ll have an eye for editing a novel. There are so many more things to watch out for, and many freelancers I’ve come across don’t read nearly slowly enough to catch everything. Or they deliver rushed, sloppy work in order to “edit” as many novels as possible to turn a higher profit. I’ll have to write up a post sometime about what to look for when considering an editor, or even a cover artist.)

On a personal note, I’ve been working hard at managing stress. It’s slow going, but I don’t seem to feel quite as tense. (I’ll devote a post to this, too. I suspect a lot of you wonderful readers have been just as stressed out in your daily lives, if not more, than I have.) Also had a great sadness hit me about 2 weeks ago. My little sister lost her baby. He was nearly full term, due in 2 weeks. She hadn’t felt him moving and when she went to the doctor, there was no heartbeat. After they induced labor and she gave birth to him, they discovered the umbilical cord had become wrapped around his neck. I was shocked. I was angry. I was depressed for several days, and dropped weight and couldn’t sleep. Even though he wasn’t mine, I felt his loss as if he was. I can’t imagine the hardship of going to the funeral home to make arrangements and then going home to a nursery full of baby things they won’t get to use right now. For any mother who’s gone through this, I am so terribly, truly sorry. It’s heartbreaking. Now, my sister is considered “high risk,” so if/when she gets pregnant again, she’ll be monitored a lot more closely than she would have been had this not happened.

Sorry to end on a depressing note. I will try to write more cheerful posts next time. Hope everyone has a happy Sunday, and a good week. I’ll send a shout-out to my newsletter, as well as paper my social media with announcements when Sacrifice is finally live.
