Hm, well, I really really liked the characterization of Mary, and something about the plot-to-romance just worked for me. I'm not sure, exactly. Usually I'm a fan of the slower romances (hence my other favorites) but even the rather abrupt nature of Johnlo

(pt 2) it made sense and, like I said, you pulled it off very well. I’m trying to think of anything else I could say about it, specifically, but mostly it was just an overall feeling of “I like this concept, I like what’s happening here”. Hopefully that helps? :)

Ahh, thank you for this!! :) I just like knowing what it was that a person liked, you know? I’m tickled that you liked the whole underground conversation! On my vaguely written list of “fics to write”, this one was referred to as “lock them up in a room and make them talk it out”, lol - aka, that was the central scene of the story.

I guess John figured that if he was going to make a decision right then and there between Mary and Sherlock, then the one thing he still didn’t know and needed to know was how Sherlock felt/if he actually felt that way at all, etc. I wanted for things to have come very close to the point of having happened between them without anything actually happening at the point of this conversation, you know? :)

Thanks for indulging my curiosity this way!! :)
