“The Gift” and Its Fairy-Tale Subtexts

Just returned from “The Gift” and was astonished by its allusive quality–doorknob cinema at its best and many nods to “Bluebeard,” “Snow White,” and “Sleeping Beauty.”  I especially liked the cut-up apple slices.  I’ll give too much away if I elaborate!
