New Zealand’s Sunday Star Times recently featured the loveliest piece on All the Bright Places. In the book, Finch mentions digging out an album by New Zealand’s most famous band, Split Enz, and dropping it on the turntable.
Reporter Kim Knight was so intrigued, she got in touch to ask me how the band came to be in the book. I wrote my side of the story, and then she spoke with Split Enz frontman Neil Finn to get his.
And here it is! The ‘80s girl in me is pinching herself because the world is a wild and wondrous place. One day, you’re listening to a song you love, and the next thing you know the book you wrote is appearing in an article alongside the man who created it.
