Creating My Debut Novel

‪#‎FunFact‬ - The working title for my debut novel was Surreal Desolation. However, in that instant I decided that my novels would be uplifting, not depressing. Being a very emotional person myself, I was determined to inject positive, fulfilled feelings into my major works.

Another fun fact - My debut novel was originally a YA book. It was going to be about a young girl who was a medium, but her mother didn't believe in her gifts and just thought she was nuts.
But then I got inspiration out of nowhere for the book's opening scene, and began writing it down (in handwriting, because I didn't have my laptop yet). I soon realized that this young woman was drugged out and had hit rock bottom. I also realized she was a victim of domestic abuse and had an unloving mother. Basically, she was alone in the world.

I knew then that Surreal Ecstasy would be women's fiction, and that it would be an adult book, a very revealing account of a person coming to terms with her inner demons before having to deal with literal ones. I also wanted to reach out to people who feel like they are lost spiritually and emotionally, and let them know that they are not alone, because I have been there. <3
