Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I updated my blog! The books I put in to Kindle Unlimited in my last blog post, have since been taken back out and returned to other vendors too, and I'm sadly looking out of the window at another rainy day in Ireland and wondering where the summer has got to....
But that's not why I'm posting. I have a quandary that I'd be really interested for everyone's opinion on...
I'm preparing to launch a new book - but here's the kicker - it's NOT ROMANCE. Instead, it's a timeslip mystery story set in 3 different time periods in the same house....
I know that anyone who likes my writing style will like it, but because it's NOT ROMANCE, I'm wondering if I should:
1. Just launch it anyway, and say "NOT ROMANCE" in the description, so as not to have one of my regular readers read it and say "Where's the love and stuff?"
2. Use a variation of my name - eg. S Clements.
In the past, writers have always used different pen names for different genres. That made sense, once upon a time, but fashions and rules change, and I know nowadays that many authors write different genres all under one name.
I really don't know what to do here, and I'd appreciate any feedback in the comments below.
What do you think?
