This was my first book from Dean Koontz.
I pick it up because it was one of the best rated in Goodreads, and I liked it.
(Not loved it, just liked it.)

In the first pages, the story really get me. Laura's childhood was very good reading, but then things started to get blurry...
- many years passing way to fast
- I liked the twins so much and they were almost erased from the continuing of the story
- Laura relationship with her husband was so empty when she suppose to be so much in love... yes, it was written how much she was happy and loved him, but I never "believed it", the man was like a ghost all the time! Even in the moment he dies trying to save her and her son, he almost didn't have the right to a line of talk!

Well... this was only my first book from D. koontz and my opinion about him it's not done. I always read at least two books from an author before I make my mind about liking it or not, so let's wait to the next I have from him "Life Expectancy" and then I'll find out.
