MR. WHAT'S-HIS-NAME - Janice Olson - One Free Book

Dear Readers, I'm thrilled to share this new book by Janice with you. I've really enjoyed her suspense novels. Mr. What's-His-Name is a romantic comedy, and I love it. I know you will, too.

Welcome back, Janice. What are some of the spiritual themes you like to write about?I love to write about God’s unconditional love and forgiveness. In fact, all of my books have a thread of both running throughout the story. The reason being, God loved me and forgave me long before I knew I needed His love or forgiveness.
What other books of yours are coming out soon?July 28, just four days away, Run … You Can’t Hide, is being released. Run … is the next romantic suspense in the Texas Sorority Sisters series (TSS series). And just in time for Christmas, I will have two releases, one in the TSS series, ’Tis a Season … for Justice, and the other, romance with a twist of humor is A Plus-One Christmas from the Texas Serendipity series.
If you could spend an evening with one contemporary person (not a family member of yours), who would it be and why?Billy Graham. I would love to hear about his ministry from the beginning and what he envisioned when he first started preaching.
What historical person would you like to meet (besides Jesus) and why?Mary, the mother of Jesus.
I’ve always been curious how, at such a young age, Mary could so easily believe the angel’s message that she would carry the Christ Child. How did she feel, what went through her mind while she carried the Son of God. Also how did she feel watching Jesus grow up knowing his was the Savior of the world, or when she watched him carry the cross and was crucified, did she believe he would rise again? What was going through her mind all through that time?
How can you encourage authors who have been receiving only rejections from publishers? Most well known authors have gone through what you are going through now and they still continued to persevere. For example:
Agatha Christiehad 5 years of continual rejections until she landed a publishing deal. Louis L’Amour had 200 rejections before a publisher took a chance on him.Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen (Chicken Soup for the Soul) had 140 rejections, stating Anthologies don’t sell.C.S. Lewis had years of rejections, and yet he kept submitting. L.M. Montogery – Anne of Green Gables—after 5 publishers rejected her, she put it in a hatbox to only pull it out later and resubmit. Stephen Kings’story, that one of the best. He lived in the doublewide trailer, drove a rusty car held together with baling wire and duct tape. He threw his manuscript of Carrie in the trash because of the rejections and his discouragement. His wife believed enough in him to retrieve the MS from the trash, and the rest is history. He’s scared millions and made millions with his horror/thriller books.
Need I go on? The list of successful authors who had rejection after rejection, yet, became published and successful is extremely long. If you’re going to be a pubbed author, you have to have the perseverance to succeed. I know not every author can become famous as some of the ones I mention, but who knows what God is capable of doing for you if you will just remain faithful and not become discouraged and decided to give up.
Tell us about the featured book. Mr. What’s-His-Name is a first for me. I normally write romantic suspense. But this novel was written as a fluke. Mr. What’s-His-Name is a romance with a twist of humor, and is the first in the Texas Serendipity series. I was having one of those moments where I allowed my mind to wander and just started writing. I soon found that I liked my heroine and her story so much that I felt she deserved her own book. Hence … Mr. What’s-His-Name, and the Texas Serendipity Series.
Tiffany Ann Gates is a typical young woman whose life dramatically changes when her VW is rear-ended by a gorgeous specimen of a man in an expensive Beamer. From that moment, Tiffany’s world completely spirals out of her control.
Soon Tiffany finds herself in the middle of a corporate merger and … she’s the bargaining chip. Influenced by a business mogul and the need for a job, she enters into an agreement but soon finds the bargain comes with a price. Realizing this game is for keeps, Tiffany has a decision to make … to protect her heart, or be swallowed up in a tug-of-war for love.
I’m going to love this book. Please give us the first page.I heard the screech of tires. Within nanoseconds, my seatbelt did a chokehold as I flew forward. And because it functioned as designed, the airbag slammed me back in the opposite direction into the not-so-soft faux leather seat of Agnes—my 1992 VW bug.
And why? Because an egotistical, larger-than-life, master-of-the-office exec thought it his duty to conduct business on his cell phone while driving.
How do I know this?
Seconds before impact, I glanced into my rearview mirror. His was face animated, mouth moving, yet no one else was in the car, unless there was a littler person. And I, Tiffany Gates, not remotely related to Bill Gates of the dot com fame, had to suffer for his neglect.
In the seconds before the cars collided, his eyes locked with mine. Shock registered in his face. If he was paying attention, he witnessed fear-stricken horror in mine seconds before he proceeded to smash into Agnes’ little bee-hind.
I can’t wait to see what happens next, and I like the different voice in this one. How can readers find you on the Internet?  I love to connect with readers. They can find me several ways, the best way, especially if they would like to become part of my VIP Readers’ Fan Club, is: www.JaniceOlson.com, or Facebook.
