Poetry Challenge - Introducing the Acrostic Forn 6: The Multiple Acrostic Type 3

Another variation of the multiple acrostic occurs when a single acrostic is used to form each verse of a poem, rather than just forming a single verse.

Soon to be gone we flyTo destinations beyond our skiesAround the moon and through the starsRivalling explorers who once moved by sailSuns still guide them on their trailsHardships can be just the sameIn lack of food and water, and creatures unnamedPassengers go along for the rideSons and daughters, full families, all know the worlds they reach will their dreams decide.
Subtle is the engines’ humToo muted by the metal floorsAn all-surrounding bone-deep thrumRunning through our very coreShall we ignore it, let it beHow the sounds of our lives ringInstead of traffic, winds and seasPerpetually we are kept company, by the starship’s humSee how we fly
See how we fly, amidst our hopesTowards our dreams, that age-old tropeA change is as good as a holidayReality might otherwise choose to have its waySee how we fly, through void night-deepHauling our way past wonders, in a leapInto the great unknown, where man, at least, has never flownPerhaps we’ll find we’re not aloneSo far from the world on which our species was born.
