Summer Update: Tug-of-Wars
Hello everyone!
The past, nearly, four months, have been amazingly busy. I am going to blame my semi-productivity (ie. finals, studying abroad in London, dog sitting, article writing, loving my boyfriend and summer classes) for slacking so terribly. Anyway, putting excuses aside! Here are my updates (there's a surprise at the end)!
NUMBER ONE:
The Secret Keeper
The sequel, I am afraid, still has to be heavily edited. Also, I must confess that it has been difficult to focus on it with college things and what not. I do promise, it will be done within the year. I won't promise a date, but I am hoping by New Yer's Eve of 2015.
NUMBER TWO
Learning to be a Writer: A Constant Tug-of-War
Anyone, who has written any novel from the ages of thirteen to thirty, will know the difficulties of finding a writing style and then keeping it consistent. A writers style and what they enjoy to write about, are two things that continually change (well maybe not always, ie. Nicholas Sparks and Co. ). For me however, I know that as I learn more in my classes and through things I write, I cam constantly changing. In fact over the course of this year, I have discovered that I am more of a poem writer than a prose writer. Yet, that is not even completely true. I love world-building. I love prose. It's a tug-of-war.
So my point is, is that I have been working on many things aside from the Legends of Linderservia series. I am not going to abandon that world, not at all, but I need to take a break from it and learn.
NUMBER THREE
New Projects
I have a series of new projects (something all writers say, when maybe our new projects are actually old ones that we have either renovated completely- forming a new idea- or we are experimenting with, arguably for the best for our readers and ourselves). Here are two I am currently working on and might interest you, though they are school related:
1.. Disambigutology - this is the name of a blog I am creating as a final for my London study abroad. It will be ready to be viewed by August 4th and will have photos from London and most importantly, writing. A lot of writing, It will be a perfect example of how a writer's style changes. I am SO excited for it to be finished!
2. A Thesis- I am writing a thesis out of my own will. It's outline is nearing completion, though it is still a skeleton. This will take a year to complete. I can say two things about: it will be very connected to Scotland and poetry.
Finally, that is all, stay with me and we can all get through this writing drama!
Best of the best,
Christine
PS
SURPRISE!
Here are some random photos of not so random things, that I took while in London:
