I’ll be honest… the fact that Mary -somehow- knew what that message said and meant so easily kinda made me wonder if she had not faked it herself and actually orchestrated for John to be in the fire.

Notice also that it was Sherlock and not Mary that really focused on getting John out.

Honestly, my mom thought that it was SUPER suspicious that Mary knew about the skip code right from the start - she and I watched it on a livestream together on my last day of Christmas holidays or something and she didn’t trust Mary from the very beginning! (But then, she does have genius level IQ!). And hell yes about the fire! Mary did nothing but caterwaul in that embarrassing way without actually lifting a FINGER to help John! She would do “anything” to prevent John from knowing the truth about who she is, but not anything to save his life?? That’s some powerful “love” right there…
