Motivational Monday: Creating the Reporter

At least once in our lives, we get a clear vision of our purpose in life. Sooner or later, many of us will answer our calling. When I wrote my first novel, Reporter from Hell, I knew my purpose in life was being fulfilled. Many of us come from humble beginnings that develops the person we become.

Unfortunately some grow up in an environment that leads them down a dark path. If a person grows up where violence and poverty are norms, there is a high probability his or her life will be plagued with the same adversity. As sound as the premises may be for that valid argument, I believe there is a flip side to that coin. What about the good kids that grow up in bad environments?

Why doesn’t anyone ever tell their story? Reporter from Hell is that story. I believe in my heart it was placed on my shoulders to tell it. The “reporter” I created in my novel is Isaiah King. The following synopsis gives a brief description of Isaiah’s life:

At an early age Isaiah King thought he had it all. He had a loving family that spoiled him rotten, and his neighborhood was full of hustlers and wise guys that he greatly admired. As he started to get older, Isaiah quickly realized that his family and neighborhood held deep, dark secrets that would eventually rule his life. After he witnessed a brutal murder, nothing would ever be the same for him. His life would become a living hell. When he thought things couldn’t get any more complicated, Isaiah finds out that the dark dreams he’s been suffering from have a deeper meaning. Even though Isaiah tries to stay on a righteous path in his chaotic life, evil seems to follow him every step of the way. Isaiah gives the reader a vivid, eyewitness account of what it’s like to be a good kid growing up amongst so many negative influences. Take an epic journey into the life of a young man trying to find his way, in an environment plagued with drugs, violence, evil and despair. After reading this novel, you will never be the same…

To tell you the truth, I thank God that I was the one chosen to tell Isaiah’s story. I believe Isaiah’s report is not uncommon. There are a lot of good kids growing up in tough environments, but they find a way to survive and make it out. One of those kids graduated from college and became an author. Reporter from Hell

I didn’t write this book for fortune and fame. This book was written to motivate kids that grew up like me. I want them to know that God loves them, and there is a way out of their tough environment. For me I had to keep God first, create a plan, and execute that plan. Thank you for being here. God has a plan for us all…
