Okay.  Today is the DAY!

This is the panel that got me to come down to San Diego Comicon this year.

THE INDIA INKBLOT

It’s today, at 11:00 am, room 25ABC.

This is a panel of amazing, wonderful mental health professionals, discussing mental health and comics, specifically superheroes.  I am thrilled and honored to have been invited to be on this panel with these people.

I have been on a lot of panels. This is one of the ones I am most excited about, I can’t wait for it. I wish it was going right NOW.

The panel will be discussing the portrayal of mental illness in comics, the promotion of mental health, and hopefully how to avoid the tropes and stigmas of the past. Conservative experts say 20% of Americans will struggle with mental illness in their lifetime. This stuff is IMPORTANT and comics can play a role.

But honestly, don’t think this is going to be stuffy. I had dinner with these folks last night and they are all brilliant, but they are also tremendously great big NERDS. They know and love comics and can discuss Spider-man with the same authority with which they talk about mental health care in prisons.

It was absolutely fascinating. I don’t deserve to be on a panel this cool.

Seriously, if you can see ONE panel this year, go see Star Farts or whatever. But if you see two, MAKE SURE THIS IS ONE OF THEM!
