Repossessed

This week was supposed to feature a 7-part essay called "Repossessed", which would have been a return to the old Hail Saten style of Blogging, and would have nuked a number of individuals and organizations who, last year, were troublesome for the industry, the genre, and myself.

But then a funny thing happened. I received an advance reading copy of Ice: A Memoir of Gangster Life and Redemption, a new book by Ice-T (whom my oldest son refers to as "the guy on Law & Order"). While I was reading it for blurb consideration, a passage jumped out and smacked me in the head: "As you grow, the game you play gets more advanced. Never let minor league players pull you back to their level."

That's sound advice. So I've decided not to publish "Repossessed". Instead, we're gonna do things a little differently, and advance the game to a new level. Welcome to 2011. My name is Brian Keene, and as Ice-T once rapped, "You should have killed me last year…"
