Questions I’ve Recently Gotten
Before I start today’s post, I am now in Montana. I’m not moved into my new home yet, but that should be soon. I am hooked up to the internet and able to do online stuff again. I have some emails which haven’t been answered. I’ll do what I can to catch up during the week. I have a ton of things to do to get settled into the new place, so it’ll be hit and miss. But at least I’m in the new state, and in case anyone was curious, Montana is just beautiful as people say. :) I’m not a big city gal. I prefer a more country setting, so I’m outside the city limits.
Anyway….
I thought I’d post some questions I’ve received recently because they were really good ones people asked and someone reading this blog might be wondering the same thing.
1. Will you write Sep’s book?
Sep was the heroine’s brother in Shotgun Groom. Yes, I will write it, but I’m still waiting for the right plot to fall into place. I really want to do a mail-order bride story for him, but I suspect he won’t be the type who will post for one. I don’t think he would be opposed to marriage like Joel was, but I’m thinking he’d be more likely to rescue a woman rather than seek one out.
The “when” of when I’ll write his book is up in the air. I have another Regency series I want to start up, and I need to get to Richard Larson’s book, Wagon Trail Bride. Wagon Trail Bride starts a historical western romance series called Pioneer Series. I also have some co-authoring commitments. Sep is pretty much on hold for the moment.
What I do know is that after I’m done with the Enchanted Galaxy Series, I’m going to take a break from anything contemporary for a long time. So that means I’ll be sticking with historical romances (Regencies and historical westerns).
And this leads me to the second question…
2. Are the books in the Enchanted Galaxy Series the same ones that you wrote under Amanda Winters?
This was such a good question I received. I wanted to be sure to address it in this post because it’s an important one. The answer is yes. If you read those books, you don’t need to read these. The reason I pulled the Amanda Winters books down was because I saw another author was using the name Amanda Winters and she was using it before I came up with it. I felt really guilty for this when I realized it, and I felt the best way to make up for what I did was to remove the books. (I made sure there was no romance author by the name Barbara Joan Russell before I made that a pen name. I didn’t want to make the same mistake twice.)
I’m putting them out under my real name, and though I thought this was going to be more romancy than it turned out to be, I feel I pretty much need to keep it under my name (despite how fantasy-ish it is). I already started the series under Ruth, so I need to keep it under Ruth to avoid any more confusion. I already complicated things enough as it is.
I’m in the middle of proofing over book 3 in the series, so it shouldn’t be too long until I finish and can get back to writing romances. (I’m trying to go through these as quickly as possible because I know some are anxious for the romances, and to be honest, I am, too. I love a variety of genres, but my heart is in writing romances.)

That’s all I can think of at the moment. If anyone has any other questions, feel free to ask, and I’ll be happy to answer them on this blog. :)
