'Ace' - the questions!!

Hello everybody. I'm getting a load of questions about 'Ace' both from asexuals and from gay romance readers who are confused about how an asexual can be the subject of a romance story. Thank you all so much for your interest and for all the pre-orders.

Here's a little more background that may help you clarify where my character fits in the asexual spectrum:

'Ace' is about a man who has never heard the term 'asexual' and only knows he isn't drawn to other people in that way. Jake Tanner has hurt lovers in the past with his indifference and doesn't want to hurt Damien the same way, because Damien is different; he's kind and he listens. Damien soon learns he can't change Jake, but hopes that they can come to some sort of compromise. Jake doesn't want to lose Damien, but as he gets to know him makes some difficult discoveries which make him question whether he is the partner that Damien needs.

Jake's orientation is more clearly described as 'homoromantic demisexual' a subset of the asexual community (but to be honest, that wasn't going to fit on the book cover). I hope this small contribution brings asexuals and demisexuals some more visibility and adds to the available body of literature pertaining to asexuality.

Tame I just finished reading Ace, and I wish I had read this blurb first BEFORE I read the book! It would have saved me some confusion :-) It was well-written, but of course, I approached it as if Jack already knew he was asexual/demisexual and just was passive-aggressive about voicing it, and Damien was, for most of the book, almost portrayed as a man with loose inhibitions & even looser morals. I am happy I was wrong on those counts. I did, however, approach the book as myself, a heteroromantic asexual, so I admit to a lot of discomfort with some passages of the book. However, I enjoyed it overall!
