comics would improve at least 60 percent for an across-the-board dedication to long-term publishing success over all competing goals
b/c the real reasons the comics industry never gets fixed is 1) people only want to fix the part of the elephant they're touching…
… and 2) the majority of people in a position to facilitate change want other things far more than they want long-term publishing success.
we're far past the point where fixing what's broken yields an immediate, short-term positive for someone, which makes it 8X more difficult.
also, let's face it, nobody in comics ever concedes to their own role. Everyone wants to fix comics, but wants to start OVER THERE.
