My Dad

Memories of My Dad, Walter Duane Eagar We did not always see eye to eye I Thought he Walked on WaterHere is an excerpt of the Obituary that I wrote for him:
August 17, 1929 ~ June 2, 2012
Duane, a kind and gentle soul passed away peacefully in Phoenix, Arizona. He grew up in Leeds, Utah, working on his father's watermelon and sorghum farm.
He served an LDS mission to California and graduated from BYU in teaching. He served faithfully in the Army during the Korean War. One of his duties was as a chaplain's assistant in an orphanage. He loved teaching the Native American people; teaching special education in Arctic Village, Alaska and Crown Point, New Mexico.
His life was trademarked by a deep love of music, poetry, nature, and art. He enjoyed painting scenes of Zion's and Arches National Park. He also enjoyed playing folk songs for his family on the guitar, as well as playing in the Eagar family band with his parents and siblings when he was younger. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/deseretnews/obituary.aspx?pid=157954909#sthash.IqwWPsyg.dpuf
