Upon all things

There is a sound in nature

which settles like the finest silk

upon all things

and as we walk through the forests

the mountains

meadows and streams

these soft tinkling diamonds of life

vibrate the ever changing arena

into a cacophony of gentle kisses

a cacophony of such minuteness

we hear it only as birdsong and the babbling brook

yet if we were to become attuned to the very essence of nature

we would hear the discords and the anger

ravishing the world with such a passion

and we would feel what it is like to be used and destroyed

over and over again

and yet she gives us birdsong and the babbling brook

because she sees we are blind and young

and she is old and kind

and she knows her green will remain

regardless of change

for in the wild of her heart

there is a sound of chaotic beauty

building with an eternity of gentle kisses

the future of humankind
