What Time Is It?

It's PLUTO TIME!

In honor of the New Horizons probe's approach to Pluto (which isn't a planet, and don't argue about it or the IAU will send their Goon Squad to settle the matter), NASA has set up the "Pluto Time" Web site. Here's how it works: you enter your location, and the site tells you what time it will be as bright where you are as it is on the dwarf planet Pluto. Then they want you to take a picture at the appropriate time and send it in.

The fact that it's summer in the Northern Hemisphere on our own (major!) planet means you're likely to be a lot more warm and comfortable than on Pluto. If NASA leaves the site in place, I'm tempted to upload a photo next winter, when New England's climate isn't so different from the ex-Ninth Planet.
