A few days backthere was an interesting discussion on one of my writing loops about series. And given that I’ve recently ordered a bunch more books in Ilona Andrews’ Kate Daniels series (which is ZOMG-so-freaking-awesome-I-can’t-tell-you!)and that while I’m waiting for them to arrive I’ve been re-reading the all the books in the series I already own for the umpteenth time, I figured this is the perfect time to talk about series in general.

I love one offs as well as series books! I especially adore beyond great series like Kate Daniels…(one of my all time favorites) And I too either re-read the whole series from book 1 right before the latest release or finish latest book in a series and go back and re-read from book 1 to newest… makes me so happy!

Hey Edna, lovely to meet a fellow "serial-adorer" who does the whole start-again-from-book-1 thing :) It makes me happy, too! It's like revisiting old friends who never let you down :)I'm loving the Kate Daniels series to bits all over again. Wasn't sure whether I would enjoy Gunmetal Magic as much, but Andrea is such a compelling character, I needn't have worried. Gotta say, I'm not usually one for novellas coz I always want more. But the Magic Gifts novella in Gunmetal Magic was sooo good; it ticked all the boxes for me. And after finishing Magic Tests this morning (it's the short story about Julie going under cover at a school), I'm this far away *pinches fingers* from emailing Ilona and begging for a full novel -- loved the premise and the characters!
