I made a tough decision for the holidays

I made a very, very tough decision a few months ago. As you may  have read, holidays are hard for me. I'm so often depressed (darn it!) that I have to make sure I'm in a calm and supportive place during stressful times. And I find the holidays stressful in my family! (Long story!) So, I made the decision to travel from Portland, Oregon where I live to my dad's house in Michigan.  That decision was a good one- the problem is that I will miss Christmas with my eight year old nephew David.
