What's the biggest struggle you've faced as an author and how did you overcome it?
As an author, the first obstacle to overcome was getting that coveted publishing contract. Once I was able to overcome the first (and second . . . let’s not even go there) rejection by a publishing house, I continued to seek a publisher, and was finally rewarded for my persistence. My first publisher was a true learning experience. With them, I learned the ups and downs of writing, what needs to be done and what to avoid. After that publishing relationship was dissolved, I was forced to rethink my dream of being a published author and whether I wanted to go through the inevitable grind of queries and letdowns.  Fortunately, I was signed by another publisher and republished the first three of The Gates Legacy series, and a standalone with the publisher who released my first erotic romance novel, Feather Light. We went through quick re-edits of Hunted and Tormentedwhile full edits of Ascension began. Reckoning, book 4, soon followed and will be my latest release. Can I say it has been easy? Not even! Can I say I would do it all over again? I think I would be lying to myself if I said I wouldn’t do again because at the end of the day, writing is who I am, not what I do. The stories are a part of me and the characters are relentless until I get their voices on paper.Do I have any regrets? Overall, I think my journey has been filled with lessons learned. The reaction and support of my loyal readers outweighs the other negative aspects I had experienced in the past. For me, perseverance and self-motivation is the key to endure the demands and ever-changing nature of the business. The support of my family, friends and peers alike, helped me in the most trying times, and will continue to inspire me as I keep moving forward.
