Going to Finish Up the Enchanted Galaxy Series
So I’ve been working on Royal Hearts, which is book 2 in the Enchanted Galaxy, and I realized the rewrite is actually pretty minor.
As you may already know, Book 1 is already out. But if you’d like to read the entire series as a whole, my advice is to wait until later this year. I plan to publish the rest of the series before the end of this year.
But my current dilemma is how to classify the entire series. I’m going to have one of my editors who is familiar with all the genres help me in this area. I don’t want to mislead people into thinking this series is a particular thing when it’s not. Yes, all of these books feature romance pretty heavily, but is it a romantic fantasy or a fantasy romance. Book 1 was easy to classify as a fantasy romance. The other three, I’m not sure. So we’ll see.
In the meantime, I am over halfway done in Royal Hearts.
I’ll be getting into Chapter 17 today. I’m not sure how many chapters it’ll have. What I do know is that I’ll need to write the final chapter from scratch in order to make it complete. That will be the only thing that will slow me down, but I don’t expect it’ll take me more than three days to write it.
My estimate is that I can have the complete draft done by June 20.
Then I’m going to work on Book 3 in the series.
Again, I’ll be adding a couple of scenes to it. I always thought it was a shame the hero and heroine never had “open door” sex scenes, so those will be added. The rest of it should be light rewrites, such as what I’m doing in Royal Hearts.
During the time I’m working on this, I will be moving, and I have no idea how often I’ll be able to get on the computer. So I’m going to allow a week for that interruption. I’m estimating August 1 as my done date for the draft.
After that, I’ll tackle Book 4.
I wasn’t originally going to do Book 4 because it doesn’t feature Ann and Hathor like Books 1-3 do, but as I was thinking over Book 3, it became apparent I need Book 4 because Book 3 has a strong lead-in into the 4th book. The rewrites would be significant in Book 3 if I don’t finish the series up with Book 4. So I’m going to do it.
Book 4 (unlike Books 1-3) will have no sex in it. It’ll be one of my few sexless romances. I expect the draft one to be done in mid-August.

I want to publish these three books at the same time. I’m thinking that will be around October or November, depending on how things progress.
I’m not sure where Wagon Trail Bride fits into all of this, but I do plan to get back to it. It’s hard to do with this summer being as hectic as it is. I might not be able to seriously get into it until the kids are back in school. By then, everything should have settled down.
