Basewood Chapter 4 = DONE!

Sorry for the second consecutive two-week blogging hiatus. Things have been INTENSE around here lately! The month-long deadline crunch finally came to a halt last night at about 11:30pm, when I finished inking the final page of Basewood Chapter 4. You can click on that image above to see the chart bigger, with its many plateaus and slow year-long climb to 100%.

Last night I got some sleep and then came back to the studio first thing in the morning to do all of my art corrections for this chapter. There were only about five panels that needed some continuity fixing, or "hatching matching" (as I like to call it). I was in the CCS lab by about 10:30am, and there I remained until 5:30pm, when I finally finished scanning in all of the pieces of this chapter. Even with the big 11" x 17" scanners, each page has a minimum of 3 scans that need to be stitched together.

So after a quick dinner, I started working with Photoshop, which I finished up around 10pm. Then I dumped everything into some InDesign files which I had set up a few weeks ago. By 11:30pm, I was back in the lab, printing up a test copy, which turned out GREAT!

Needless to say, I can't wait to get this issue into everyone's hands. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done, but I'm afraid it'll have to be done in SEATTLE. I leave tomorrow for New York (where I am catching my flight back home for Christmas) even though I was already IN New York last weekend for TWO (count them, TWO) back to back Weezer concerts. But more about that later...

For now I just wanted to say that Phase 7 #008 exists! There is one copy of it. But soon there will be MANY copies of it, and I will send them out to all of you before 2010 comes to a close, so keep an eye on those mailboxes! Happy Holidays everyone!
