Several weeks ago, I participated in a Community Word Project...

Several weeks ago, I participated in a Community Word Project event at PS 279. Through the poetry of second graders, I discovered Bronx landmarks like High Bridge and Grand Concourse. (Also got schooled on P-Square and Monster High.) Don’t know if my lines of inquiry or synonym suggestions enriched their poems, but each of those kids enriched my world view. Looking forward to the next CWP volunteer event…and to learning more than the chorus of “The Beat of my City.”
