How do you find time to play video games while also doing so many creative projects? Maybe it's just me, but I find gaming and writing occupy the same "creative time block" I set for myself everyday. That is, days where I do intense gaming sessions suck u

Ah, this is a good question.

Okay, here’s how it works with me. I play video games when I get stuck.

When I am doing a story and a piece doesn’t fit, I have a routine. I take my dogs for a nice long, quiet walk. If I don’t have the answers by then, I play video games for a while. Doing something OTHER than staring at a blank screen really helps me.

When I am behind, I make a rule for myself that I am not allowed to play games, the only exception being the one just mentioned, if I get stuck.

For me, games are a thing to do that allows me to FORGET writing for a bit and recharge. But I also rarely play for hours, I don’t feel I have that kind of time.
