Scene Set –Peyton needs to work out before his date with Princess. Actually I thought I'd be miserable and make you wait a week more to meet Princess ;-)


The pounding beat of the music crashed into his ears. The smell of sweat filled his nose. Other than Brent, his trainer, no one was in the gym. Peyton knew everyone had been hustled out when it was announced he was coming down to workout. It was a pet idiosyncrasy of his: being left alone when he worked out. He didn't need pictures pasted on Twitter of him straining when lifting a weight, or bent over puffing after a long run. He preferred to keep his employees in awe of him. The tall, handsome, fit boss who had made his second billion by age twenty-seven.The only one not in awe of him was standing before him… the dreaded Brent. "Good afternoon, Peyton. What're you up for today? Bit of boxing? Elliptical? Pound the weights for a bit?""Something exhausting. I've got a problem to workout and a date with Princess. So bring it on."Brent grinned. "You change, and I'll get the boxing gloves."Two hours later, Peyton had finished his workout and was heading for the shower. He paused at the spa reception desk. Naya, the cute receptionist, almost choked on her coffee when she looked up. "Oh… uh… yes, Mr. Lang. May I help you?""I could use a massage. Had a bit of a rough workout. And I have a date tonight, so maybe a trim and a shave.""Yes, sir. I'll let…" She ran her manicured fingernail down the booking schedule. "Dacie know. And I believe Narciso is here this afternoon."Peyton nodded. "I need a quick shower."Naya smiled. "They'll be waiting."Showered, massaged, and shaved, Peyton returned to his office and pulled open his closet. He flipped through his suits and stopped at a steel grey Hugo Boss. Reaching over, he grabbed a light mauve shirt and matching tie. After tying his tie, he called his executive assistant and asked her to have the limo brought around as well as to deal with his briefcase if by chance he didn't return later in the evening.Once settled in the car, he pressed the intercom button to speak to his chauffeur, Adele. "What are we in the mood for?""I was thinking Vietnamese.""Vietnamese it is. My hunger is in your hands." Adele's husband was a chef and her expertise in food had treated him to exotic dinners. He valued her opinion. His personal taste in food was burgers and fries.The limousine pulled away from Lang Towers and turned left on SE Second Street.At six fifteen, Peyton finished his last bite of Vietnamese Spicy Beef Stew. He signaled the waitress for his bill. When she placed it on the table, he peeled some bills out of his wallet, leaving enough for a sizeable tip, then walked to the entrance and stepped into his waiting limo."Did you eat, Adele?" He shut the car door."Yes, sir." Adele put the car into drive and pulled away from the curb."I don't need to arrive until seven, so there's no need to hurry." He opened the newspaper that Adele had left on the seat and settled back to get caught up on the day's events.He finished the sports section as the car slowed and stopped before a large, soft yellow mansion. Three palm trees graced the front yard. "I'll call when I need you.""Yes, sir."He pushed the door open, stepped out, inhaled a deep breath, and walked to the front entrance. He reached for the doorbell, but the door swung opened.
