My Summer Reading List

There is something about summer time that makes me want to read. Maybe because I grew up with summer book lists as a kid, I always relish the relaxed summer vibe with a great book in hand. These days, I’ve been reading more and more books on self-help and wellness, and I feel so inspired by it. I’ve talked in the past about how much reading for inspiration helps me. I find that it brings me back to life and it encourages me to be the best person I can be, plus it teaches me so much; I am always learning. I want to share with you this week a great inspirational summer reading list. These are some great books that I have read many times, that I keep on my bookshelf whenever I need a boost.

A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson. One of my all time favorite books, I always take something away from it when I read it, and I find it very comforting and uplifting to read. Marianne Williamson is amazing.
Make Your Own Rules Diet by Tara Stiles. Tara Stiles has been a great influencer in my life from yoga to living life with ease. This book has some great summer recipes as well as tips on living a stress-free life.
Spirit Junkie by Gabrielle Bernstein. This was one of the first books I read when getting into the self-help world, and I find myself going back to it every now and then. I love Gabby’s personal stories and how they relate to living a more spiritually based life. A great beach read!
Beauty Detox Power by Kimberly Snyder. Kimberly’s work launched me into the health and wellness field many years ago. I have always been so inspired by her positive nature and her zest for living a healthy life. In her newest book, she delves into the mind/body relationship and gives some great recipe tools
Awaken the Spirit Within by Rebecca Rosen. Reading this book gave me so much hope for my life, and helped me connect with myself and my true purpose. Rebecca beautifully explains tapping into intuition and connecting with your higher Self.
The Practice by Barb Schmidt. I may be a bit biased on this one, due to my close relationship with the author, however the simple tools in this book are timeless and life changing. I love having this book on hand for quick references and daily inspiration.
Living with Intent by Mallika Chopra. Intention setting practices are a big part of my life, and I just love this sharing the importance of living with intention. A great read!
The Four Agreements by don Miguel Ruiz. Another oldie but a goodie for me personally. This book changed my life in that it challenged the way I was thinking and helped shift me into a more positive mindset. I always have a copy of this book around.
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. If you’re looking for a book on finding your life’s purpose, this is the one! The Alchemist is truly a treasure and helps you connect with yourself and realize that you have a purpose in this life.
The Women’s Health Big Book of Yoga by Kathryn Budig. My yoga practice is a huge part of my life, and this book is a great tutorial on basic poses and gentle sequencing! Kathryn’s authenticity and enthusiasm shines through this book and makes you feel excited about yoga.

I hope you enjoy my summer reading list! I’d love to hear your comments and thoughts and what books you’re reading this summer! Let me know in the comments below! Happy Reading!
