Today I took the decision to decline a publishing deal I was previously offered.
With personal profit numbers in the low digits, a request not to write about violence against women, and to always provide a happy ending, I stepped away. I appreciate the publisher taking the time reading my manuscript and writing me an offer, but as I feel my writing should be less controlled by other forces than my own imagination, and that I do write descriptive crime scenes – as in reality violence occur to both sexes, I feel blessed to continue my writing as an indie-published author. If the future provides differently, I will take a new decision when the time comes.
