In the end it does not matter if a war was "popular" or "unpopular", what matters is the courage of people put in the testing grounds of life and how they deal with it. Courage is not lack of fear, it is doing things despite fear. The United States owes a great debt to our military, from our birth as a nation through the landings at Normandy on D-Day as they were shot down on those historic beaches along with our Allies on Juno, Gold, Omaha, Utah, Sword and turned the tide in daring Operation Overlord. No nation can remain free without sacrifice. Those who do not remember or learn about the past are doomed to repeat it. The testing ground comes to us all at some point in our lives.
