Contest and Book Release Party

Welcome!  I moved in as many recliners, sofas, daybeds, and large pillows as possible.  Kick back and have a seat.  On the table over there, I have champagne, punch, and Guiness.  There's pasta salads, Philly cheese and steak sandwiches, lobster tails, snow crab legs, and off course, cavier–red and black  and those little crackers.  Yes, I have chocolate bomb, chocolate torte, petit fours, and kisses.  If I've missed something just ask for it.

Vampire David Hilliard stands up in the middle of the room.  "Ladies and Gentlemen, Humans, and others, we're here to celebrate the book release of Susan's sexy, steamy, steampunk romance Mrs. Bright's Tea Room.  Susan, a few words?"

Thanks, everyone, for coming.   Thank you, David, for that lovely introduction.  I want to thank my publisher, Tease Publishing LLC, my editor Gail, and my cover artist Stella.  I also want to thank my crit partner, Mason, and Leanna Renee Heiber.  Leanna and Mason are experts on the Victorian age.  Thanks especially to my dad for his knowledge of dirigibles.

David smiles showing his fangs.  "Susan, can you tell us what steampunk romance is?"

Sure.  Steampunk romance is sort of science fiction as the inventions of the time relay upon either steam or clockwork.  It's also sort of historical, as it's set either in Victorian England or the Wild West in America.  It's the road not taken, so it's an alternate history of what might have been if we stayed with steam.  It's sexy and romantic, swashbuckling and adventurous.  It gives up tastes of reality right next to the bizarre.   That's steampunk romance.

"Why did you write Mrs. Bright's Tea Room?"

I had this wild, amusing, sexy dream that wouldn't leave me alone.

"A taste, please?"

I laugh.  You always have to be careful when a vampire asks for a taste.  I'm guess you mean the blurb, so here it is:

The sky above Alternate Victorian London is filled with dirigibles, one being the notorious lavender brothel–Mrs. Bright's Tea Room.

Euthalia has no choice but to work for Mrs. Bright.

In walks handsome airship Captain Travers, the Queen's spy.

Sparks aren't the only things flying with Travers, Euthalia's first customer.
