“Sure. I mean, ‘Yeah.’ That would be cool. You’ve got my number, right? It should be on the class forms.” He was babbling, and Jeremy swallowed so as to shut himself up. “I’ve gotta go. My friend’s waiting.”
Yacob licked his bottom lip. “I’m sure you don’t want to make him wait.”
Though it took every bit of Jeremy’s will, he backed away from the desk. “See ya.” He jerked his head to the side, trying to flip his hair from his face, and ended up knocking into a girl’s backpack. Luckily, Yacob was already talking to another student.
Turning on this heel, Jeremy headed up the aisle. To his surprise, he managed to make it out the door without fainting from shock.
