For Hades!

"Maeneas, clenching his fist close to his neck and letting tears flow onto his sun kissed cheeks: Mindless beasts, mindless bodies roamed, scourged the Earth, and then they killed in the beauty of their churches. White Watchers they were called. Beautiful, majestic ravens with eyes like holes, pure, silky feathers of white, and claws of death came from the sky like thunders. They floated above the heads of men, women, and children, of the old and the crippled, of the gorgeous and the young. They did not touch a fleck of skin or a thread of cloth, they did not make a sound, and they did not look at those who became their prey. The Watchers took away the drive, desire, will, and power, took away the smile and laughter, took what made us wake up in the morning or walk out into the world. The white ravens took our souls and lifted them into the bright clouds, between the sun’s rays, and whisked them into a thick, large hole that led the way to a hell, a prison, where so many souls burned before, right beneath what used to be your house. Oh Hades, where are you now? Have you forsaken us our king? Have we turned you cold with hate and rage? Have our weaknesses made you scream into the night? Hades, free us from this pain, destroy these poor souls with no salvation. Have mercy, our king! Thousands of years of senseless pride, illusions, and ideals of grandeur lay behind, in dust. Have mercy our king, destroy our souls for which there is no hope of absolution!
Horus, lifting his wide palms close to his face while thinking of his role in their desolation: There is no use, he’s gone! Our fate is sealed!"

Every book in the series "Titans, Humans, and the Beasts" starts with a chapter titled "Somewhere in time" and the short text above is part of it. "Somewhere in time" does not relate to the book in which it is included, but it actually presents some scenes which will be part of the last book (probably book no 5), they are not spoilers, but they do hint, vaguely (and can be interpreted in many, many ways), at the overall tone of the last book. At this point, I have not finished book 3 and, it will probably take quite a while until I do, but this part was written before I even finished and published book 2 and I just thought of sharing it with anyone who might want to look at it.

I started writing book 3 at the same time I did book 2, but writing this one takes a lot longer than expected. It is probably the most difficult story to write. It is not that I don't know what to write about, it is just that I find it hard to translate my ideas into words on a computer screen. Also, the more I write, the bigger the story gets (did I mention that many of the scenes in this one were actually scenes from book 2 that just got taken out cause that one would have been loooooong?? no? oh well, now I did.). Grrr... I wonder how many other authors have this problem. It is a first for me, but I guess it might happen again in the future, though I hope it never will again.

Leaving all my fears for this book aside, tell me what you think about this chapter! Or my cat will scratch you terribly. There, I am sure this threat works! :))

Nick I wondered what the 1st "Somewhere in time" had to do with the 1st book and realized in the 2nd book that it might be something from the future, now I'm sure of it. This one makes me think that the last book will be epic. But for now, as long as that 3rd book comes out sometime soon, I am contempt. Good luck writing!

Ariana Carlos Wait, does this mean Hades goes bad? Does this mean titans and humans never rekindle their friendship? Who are the Watchers? How is Horus involved in it? What does this all mean? So many questions (goes and screams in a corner)
