Jungle Escape – Painting in Progress

Same week like last week. Unrelenting work load but in a good way. I’m still in a bit of a creative rut, however the sheer panic of the approaching deadlines has kicked me into gear and I’m producing again. I’m not entirely happy with the quality of my work, but I’m glad that I’m drawing.
I’m still under strict order not to show any of the art from my secret Marvel project and my creator-owned project until they are officially announced. So I’m going to show you my latest oil painting that I’ve been working on – Jungle Escape.
This art was originally a black and white pin-up that I did 10 years ago for one of my art book. I liked the art so much that I decided to turn it into a full blown oil painting. I’ve been picking at it for years. But recently I’ve decided to put more effort into it. The painting is still far from being finished, but I managed to put a huge dent in it by blocking in all the colors and rough in the main figures. Now I’m playing with the light and shadow. Hopefully, I’ll finish the painting before the year is out, but right now, my main concern is just having fun.
