I BE ROLLIN', THEY BE HATIN'

I've since graduated to crutches but I wanted to save a shot of me on my knee-scooting cart for posterity.  The recovery is still a long haul, but I'm grateful for the progress.   (P.S. Dignity is so last year.)

Michele Gardiner Ah. So that's what you referred to in "Stories I'd Tell in Bars." I'm enjoying this book--first I've read of your books. Sheesh, that scam trip to trash beach in Italy (I Googled it. You were NOT exaggerating: Piles of trash, a poor sea turtle carcass, USSR communist style buildings). What a horrific tale.

As a longtime married person (I've been with my husband since 1987), I love your chapter on what works for your longtime marriage. Good points--have quirky (you too?) things in common and the ability to live with the annoyances. I, too, had parents with a crappy marriage. I did the opposite.

Anyway, nice to find a writer I enjoy. I've been buying books I can't get beyond the first 4 chapters, they're so freaking boring. Thanks for not boring me!
