A Parent’s Ode to Spring Break

All their bags were packed
They’re ready to go
I’m standin’ here in the living room
I hate to wake them up to say “it’s time.”
But their break is over
It’s time to go
The bus is waitin’
He’s blowin’ his horn
Already I’m so sad to see them go

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you packed your stuff
Call me when you get back to your campus
