My two Richards--a good day for both

I would like to thank all of my Facebook friends who shared the news about Sunne’s bargain price on your own Facebook pages. (It is now #212!) I really appreciate your help, and I am sure Richard does, too. I feel the need to speak for him since I doubt that he has Wi-Fi at Leicester Cathedral.
I have some news about the first King Richard, too. Macmillan is publishing the paperback edition of A King’s Ransom today. Another very dramatic cover; the Macmillan art department has a flair for that, and I suspect the Lionheart would approve. He appears larger than life, defiant, fearless, and handsome in a dangerous sort of way. Knowing what we do of Richard’s personality---no shrinking violet, he---that probably matches his own self-image. Whereas I think the Richard on the paperback cover of Sunne looked resolute, but haunted. I will include that link, too, for those who have not seen it. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kings-Ransom-...

Leila I recently ordered the new copy of Sunne Sharon with Richard's 'resolute but haunted' picture on the front as my old copy is rather tattered now. It arrived the other day and I'm delighted with it. Now the paperback of Ransom is out I am trying to resist lol. I already have the hard back so I guess it would be an extravagance to say the least. One day perhaps (smiles)

Sharon Don't resist, Leila.:-) I think Macmillan does a wonderful job of creating dramatic covers for my books.

Michell Brown Both of these covers are brilliant. Love Sunne, want to read Ransom.

Sharon I am very happy with Macmillan's art department, Michell; such a contrast to my former British publisher, Penguin. You should probably read Lionheart before Ransom, for while I try to make each of my books accessible as a stand=alone, Ransom will mean more if you read Lionheart first. I'd planned to do a trilogy about the Angevins, ending with Devil's Brood, but Eleanor and Richard had other ideas. Barbara Peters, who owns my favorite book store, the Poisoned Pen, cracked me up at a book signing there for Ransom by describing them as "Sharon's five book trilogy about the Angevins."
