I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to say about this book.
1. It’s very well written
2. Some of the characters and situations are confusing
While early on in the novel I was thinking, “I am definitely going to have to read this again,” I’m not sure the story’s supposed to be 100% clear. The main character (and the author) is diagnosed with schizophrenia – that alone made me interested in reading this book because I (like most people, I’m sure) have no idea what that entails. Because the disease involves hearing voices and hallucinating people and situations, one has to wonder if some of the characters and plot points in this story actually happened. The book is an emotional roller coaster and it’s not always pretty.
Please read this book. Ask questions, educate yourselves, and end the stigma of mental illness.
