Open Your Heart

I recently watched a YouTube video in which an individual stated why he was an atheist. I found it interesting that his argument was based in his intellectual center, his mind, where the ego resides. My experience is that God, the Infinite Spirit, cannot be grasped by the intellect alone. To know the existence of the Infinite Spirit is to experience it emotionally, with your heart and soul, for the mind cannot comprehend what the heart understands.

For example, have you ever been in love? Truly, in love? I’m referring to the type of love that knows no boundaries. The love that, if the world were to fall apart today and you lost every possession you had, it wouldn’t matter. The love that, if you had to, you would sacrifice your life in an instant, no questions asked, for your beloved? When you experience this type of love, you feel it in every cell of your body and your heart feels as if it could explode in the abundant bliss of unconditional love it is experiencing. What if you had to explain this type of love to someone who had no knowledge of its existence?

I don’t believe this type of love can be fully comprehended by intellect alone—it must be experienced. The mere knowledge that it exists is not enough. You must experience it to fully grasp all that it contains; you must open your heart and experience it with your emotional center, where it will be understood.

My teacher used to say, “You can teach a parrot to say E = mc2 but it will never understand it.” The same is true for living in the Now. You can know about the Now intellectually, but to fully understand it, you must experience it.

In the Now, you will observe that your soul is the bridge connecting you with God. As you delve deeper and deeper into the Now, you will understand that your soul is God.
