I FOUND A NEW SERIES–and the first book is FREE on Amazon, B&N, Kobo, and iBooks.

In the magical world of Lucernis, Amra, a lowly thief, finds her best friend brutally murdered and vows revenge. Right there you’ve got a great character–she’s slippery, obviously, but she’s also got an honor code. Avenging her friend turns out to be more difficult than she expected though, his latest job involved some ancient, powerful artifacts that some very unpleasant people (and steampunkish giant crabs) want. 

The character development in this story was great. The descriptions weren’t overblown, they were just enough to give you the setting while the plot hummed along. The prose was a lot better than mine, and it was FUNNY. I love funny.

I went ahead and bought the next book, The Thief that Spat in Luck’s Good Eye, right away. I haven’t finished it … review will be coming.

This series has apparently been picked up by a publisher, so if you want to get the first book free, now would be a good time.
