Thanks again for letting me know.

Tha..."
What SB list? BTW, I just added a 'vote for Naked Edge' post to your fan group. I didn't know if it would be 'politically correct' to do that, but if Goodreads says you must promote your nomination than who am I to say I shouldn't. :-)

Kirkus Reviews published a blog post by SB Sarah, and she named NAKED EDGE as one of her picks for best romances of 2010. I think there were 20 on the list. The link is on my FB page, but I'll go get it...

And post it there. :-)

And I'm pimping out the I-Team series wherever possible! Muslifa is a testament to the fact ^_~
So all in all, 2 fans from the sunny side of life Pamela! And I am sure it will grow into much more in the time to come! Good luck!

Hi, Maldivian Book Reviewer — I had a sneaking suspicion you might be behind the sudden increase I had in friends on FB from the beautiful land of Maldives. ;-) Thanks! I really appreciate the word-of-mouth support.

Lady Jayne, that is funny because I had the same issue with that book except for the write-in hero part. I voted Naked Edge without hesitation (I just loved it), but Leo was a stand out hero considering how much I originally hated him. I fall in love with so many hero's each year, it's really a tough decision. But Gabe?! Wow, when I think of what he was willing to sacrifice for Cat I tear up. He too deserves to win best hero! I haven't voted hero or heroine this year yet, but will.

I slept in today. YAY! And as soon as I find the energy, I'm going to clean this place. Then back to research for Connor.

Whuuuh? Who are these cold, cold people?
I'm glad you got a chance to sleep in for once. Do you have snow yet?
How do you shift from finishing BP and so quickly moving on to Connor? Does the research smooth the transition? Here I go with my minutia questions again. ;^)

We have snow on the high peaks. We had one eensy snowstorm down here. I live at the base of the foothills about 45 minutes from Longs Peak, so we're about as close to the mountains as you can get without being in them. Today it's 60 degrees and windy. Whatever.
I want snow!!!!!
Shifting from contemp to historical or back again... I love your questions. :-)
Research helps, but it takes time. I have a recovery period (emotionally and even physically) when I finish a book, and I have to get through that. And research is how I turn those weeks into productive time.
Also — and this is huge for me — I switch music. When I'm writing a contemp, I'm constantly trolling playlists and using iTunes Genius feature to find new music that "feels" like my story. (I'll be putting up Zach and Natalie's playlist soon.) I seem to veer toward post-grunge rock — 3 Doors Down, Shinedown, Nickelback, Staind, Evanescence, etc. — with some lighter stuff tossed in, too.
When I write a historical, I completely quit listening to that and listen exclusively to old Celtic music. By that I mean strictly traditional Celtic. Old Blind Dogs tops the list. I love those guys! Met them all a few years back.
So the music helps my mind shift.
Right now, I'm missing Zach and Natalie a LOT so I'm still listening to my BREAKING POINT playlist and feeling their "angst." I'll get over it.
It's funny because when I finish a book and find out that my editor is satisfied, I always feel so relieved that I don't have to write for a while. And inevitably within a WEEK, I'm jonesing to put words on the page again.
It's a sickness. LOL!
Wow, so that was a looong answer. :-)
And many, many thanks to my Goodreads friends and readers whose support has brought this about.
