Mary Norris, one of The New Yorker's staggeringly brilliant squad of copyeditors, has written a book about the art of fine-tuning the English language. Like every other writer on staff, I have happily been schooled by Mary, Ann Goldstein, and many others, going back to The Gould, and I look forward to learning even more from what is certain to be described as a "deceptively slim volume." Congratulations, Mary!
