Beth Camden's break from a loveless though lavish-style marriage doesn't spare her from becoming embroiled in a money laundering investigation when her ex-husband gets cozy with a Florida mobster. The Justice Department puts the missing $2 million and Beth in the center of the case. Soon she finds herself a suspect in a murder case.
Skipping her court date and disregarding bouts with panic attacks, she flees her coastal home on a stormy holiday weekend with hopes of finding the money and clearing the Camden name.
Her ex and his sassy new wife are on the hook to the mobster for the two million. The money can be easily paid back with a life insurance policy the ex still has on Beth. Despite the search for the money through Florida small towns, a cemetery, and swamps they continue on as a storm threatening to turn into a hurricane rages. Beth and Rafe get more from the weekend than they planned; the weekend sizzles.
