It's been an exciting couple of weeks! First, my daughter's debut YA novel --"Little Black Dresses, Little White Lies" by Laura Stampler -- was announced in Publishers Weekly. Then, last week, my new YA thriller"How to Disappear" followed.
"How to Disappear" is the story of a girl on the run from a murder she witnessed -- or committed? -- and the boy who is blackmailed to track her.
I'll let Laura describe her own book, but just as a hint, "Little Black Dresses, Little White Lies" was pitched as "The Devil Wears Prada" meets "Sex and the City." I love it!
Both of our books are coming out with Simon Pulse in summer, 2016, and I couldn't be happier and or more excited. (Well, maybe I'd be more excited if I weren't committed to finishing up the final revisions on "How to Disappear" by May 11th...)
The second a book goes up on Goodreads, it begin to feel real. It's the beginning of the process of sharing the book with readers: revealing the cover, seeing the first few chapters appear online, tearing open an envelope containing the first advance reader copies, and interacting with readers.
I can't wait! And sharing the process with my fabulous daughter makes it even more special!
